Frequently Asked Questions
Popular FAQ
Where is my data stored?
Data is only kept in your country or approved region. Risk Wizard uses Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS data centers are built in clusters in various global regions. Client instances and backups are stored across multiple Availability Zones within each region.
How do you secure data access?
We support cloud-based single sign-on (SSO) integration meaning we can work with any identity provider that supports SAML2.0 (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Google Workspaces etc.). We use roles and record level permissions to control authenticated user access.
Can I trial the software before I commit?
Yes. First of all we give you an online demo of the software so you know how to drive it. After this, we can provide free access to a demonstration site. For serious buyers, we offer fully supported pilots and proof of concept (POC) trials.
Can you import my current data?
Yes. We offer a seamless data migration path so you can easily move from one system to another with minimum fuss.
What's your contract and notice periods?
Usual minimum contract period is one year, however you can terminate without cause after one year of the contract on 90 days written notice and for any contract extension on 60 days written notice.
Who owns the data and what happens upon termination?
You own the data and can export it to Excel at any time. We destroy the database within 60 days of termination date.
How long does it take to get set up and running?
You can be up and running in days, not weeks. We establish the site, configure the system and train you on the software.
Demos and trials
What does the demo involve?
We provide a Zoom or MS Teams link to an online meeting where one of our experts walks you through the software. Depending on the range of products you're interested in the demo can last anything from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Can I trial the software?
Yes. First of all we give you an online demo of the software so you know how to drive it. After this, we can provide free access to a demonstration site. For serious buyers, we offer fully supported pilots and proof of concept (POC) trials.
How long does the trial last?
We provide you with 30 days access to a demonstration site. For pilots and POC trials we work with you to suit your time frames. Usually these last 4 to 6 weeks.
Do I need to download anything or get IT involved?
No. The software is 'cloud-based' so once we show you how to 'drive' the software and provide you with access codes, you're ready to go.
What does the trial involve?
The trial is unrestriced and a true version of a normal production site which means 'what you see is what you get'. We provide advice and assistance on how to setup and operate the system. You can work with our data, bring your own or take a blank site.
If I choose to proceed can I use the data from my pilot or POC site?
Yes. We can take a 'snapshot' of the trial database and transfer it to a 'production ready' site.
Data security and hosting
Where is my data stored?
We partner with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and store data on servers based within a customer's region. For example, we store Australian/New Zealand data in Sydney, UK data in London and USA data across a range of USA based servers.
How do you control user access?
We support cloud-based single sign-on (SSO) integration meaning we can work with any identity provider that supports SAML2.0 (e.g., Azure AD, Okta, Google Workspaces etc.). Roles and record level security controls authenticated user access to data.
Is my data accessible by Risk Wizard staff?
Database access codes are given to the customer when the system is handed over. Once the customer changes these, no data can be accessed by Risk Wizard staff.
Do you have different data security levels for users?
Yes. We have role based security (determines what and how users access e.g. Risk system access with update permissions and record level security (determines what level of record the user can access through security permission groups).
Who owns the data and what happens upon termination?
You own the data and can export it to Excel at any time. We destroy the database within 60 days of termination date.
Who can delete data?
Users can delete records if they have sufficient access permissions. Cloud databases are only deleted upon termination of a customer agreement.
Support and upgrades
What support is included?
Our Helpdesk provides technical and user support. Also, we maintain a comprehensive online Help facility that is accessed from the software.
How do I log a support request
The simplest way is to email us (support@riskwizard.com) with a brief explanation about the issue experienced. Our support team will get back to you shortly.
How often do you upgrade and are upgrades included?
Updates are pushed through to cloud sites as and when required. Major upgrades are usually once a year. All software updates and upgrades are covered by the annual fee.
Do you have an upgrade plan?
Yes. Our product replacement and transition plan means we keep up with new technology by upgrading/replacing our software periodically which in turn protects client data and ensures service continuity.
What's your backup procedures?
Daily backups are automatically scheduled, encrypted and distributed across multiple AWS data centres for redundancy. We test and restore backups regularly. Backups are deleted upon termination.
Contracts and pricing
What sort of contracts do you use?
We use two standard agreements. One is a software agreement to cover the rights and provisions for use of the software and the other is a services agreement to cover the delivery of onboarding and support services.
Who owns the data and IP?
You own the data and can export it to Excel at any time. Intellectual property rights within the software always belong to Risk Wizard.
What's your contract term, notice periods and what happens upon termination?
Usual minimum contract term is one year. You can terminate without cause after one year of the contract on 90 days written notice and for any contract extension on 60 days written notice. We destroy the database within 60 days of termination date.
Do you operate NDAs or confidentiality agreements?
Yes. Our agreements include confidentiality clauses to protect both parties.
How do you price the software?
Price is based upon which products are chosen (Risk, Compliance, Incident) and how many full (core) users you need to access those products.
Are there any hidden prices?
No. The price quoted includes all software features, upgrades and support.
Do you offer any refunds if I cancel?
Yes. Once any notice period is accounted for, fees paid in advance relating to unexpired licence periods are refunded.
Software onboarding
What services does onboarding cover?
Covers all of the services needed to get the software to 'go live' state and have people trained in how to use and administer the system. All services are carried out remotely.
How long does it take?
Depends on the size of the implementation, however, at a minimum, it takes about 3 days to establish the site, configure all of the settings and train people so they are ready to operate independently.
Who should attend training?
The system owner should attend Administrator training. Core users should attend User training. Those responsible for running reports should attend the Report Designer training.
What sort of getting started materials are provided?
We provide a training database, configuration guides, operator manuals and online Help.
Can we onboard our own data?
Yes. Small amounts of data can be easily and quickly entered manually. For larger volumes, we can prepare a migration script to upload the data.
Do you offer refresher training?
Yes. We offer refresher courses throughout the year and upgrade training.
